Flatiron sponsors a number of organizations throughout the U.S. and Canada. As part of that commitment to community, we’re particularly proud of the success of the University of British Columbia (UBC) Concrete Canoe Team.

With the help of Flatiron’s Canadian Division, the student-operated team, hosted at UBC’s Vancouver 22bet sportsbook reviewcampus, was able to compete in two recent competitions: the Canadian National Concrete Canoe Competition in Montreal, where they placed sixth, and at the American Society of Civil Engineers’ Pacific Northwest Concrete Canoe Competition, where they placed fifth.

The team is made up of undergraduate students from various backgrounds. They use civil engineering principles to construct the canoe. This gives them the opportunity to apply academic knowledge to a real world environment.

“…thanks to our sponsors, this year’s canoe, 28 Days Later, was the strongest 22bet sports betting appand lightest canoe we’ve ever built. Coming in at 203 pounds, we are 138 pounds lighter than last year. We decided to invest in advanced new materials, which wouldn’t have been possible without your support,” the team wrote in a letter to us describing their achievements and future goals.

“We’re looking forward to building on the lessons learned from this year’s canoe, and to continue creating innovative designs.”
