The $449.9 million Triangle Expressway Southeast Extension project adds 6.6 miles of new highway and three new interchanges. Plus, it expands on Flatiron\u2019s two current NC-540 Raleigh Outer Loop projects \u2014 bringing the Triangle Expressway another step toward completion.<\/span><\/i> <\/span><\/p>\n

These projects strengthen Flatiron\u2019s position in the Mid-Atlantic region. Further, they reinforce the strategy to secure contracts offering balanced risk profiles and opportunities for greater collaboration with valued clients such as North Carolina Turnpike Authority and North Carolina Department of Transportation.<\/span><\/i> <\/span><\/p>\n

The Flatiron-Fred Smith Company joint-venture team currently is collaborating with North Carolina Turnpike Authority on design and preconstruction planning for the $449.9 million Triangle Expressway Southeast Extension \u2014 the third contract for Flatiron on the Triangle Expressway project.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Flatiron \u2014 in collaboration with joint-venture partner Fred Smith Company and lead designer ICE of the Carolinas \u2014 will design and construct a six-lane divided highway to extend the Triangle Expressway, beginning at Rock Quarry Road in Raleigh and extending to US 64\/I-87.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
