Flatiron earned the International Organization for Standardization certification ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety management systems after an independent audit of the company\u2019s systems, processes and objectives. This certification recognizes Flatiron\u2019s commitment to sustainable construction practices on infrastructure projects across North America.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

ISO 45001 is an internationally-recognized standard that provides a framework for managing health and safety risks and opportunities. This framework includes employee and external stakeholder inputs for worker health, safety and well-being. The aim and intended outcomes of the occupational health and safety management system are to prevent work-related injury and ill health to workers and to provide safe and healthy workplaces by eliminating hazards and minimizing risks by taking effective preventive and protective measures.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Certification encompassed Flatiron\u2019s commitment, as well as the framework required to manage its health and safety risks, improve safety conditions and assist in meeting legal and other requirements.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

  2. A Lost Time Incident Frequency Rate (LTIFR) of 0.21 by the end of 2025 and 0.18 by the end of 2030.<\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n
  3. 100% of new hires trained on health and safety by the end of 2023.<\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Increase contractor training and awareness of health and safety issues by the end of 2025 to lower accident rates.<\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n
  5. 100% of employees covered by Occupational Safety and Health Administration certifications such as ISO 45001.<\/span> <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
