We pledge to send no waste to landfills by the end of 2045. <\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"dd9ir\" data-offset-key=\"7bn9a-0-0\">\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"7bn9a-0-0\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"dd9ir\" data-offset-key=\"5v22i-0-0\">\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"5v22i-0-0\"><strong>North Coast Corridor<\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"dd9ir\" data-offset-key=\"ck3jv-0-0\">\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"ck3jv-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"ck3jv-0-0\">The North Coast Corridor Program involves numerous rail and highway improvements stretching between the cities of La Jolla and Oceanside. San Elijo Lagoon is home to numerous endangered species, is a wildlife and recreation area and is one of the largest coastal wetlands in San Diego County.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"dd9ir\" data-offset-key=\"8arhb-0-0\">\n<ul>\n<li class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"8arhb-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"8arhb-0-0\">100% of demolished concrete is recycled into aggregate and used on-site. That\u2019s more than 70,300 tons each year!<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"8arhb-0-0\">More than 12.5 tons of steel recycled locally instead of going to a landfill \u2013 keeping the area greener and stimulating the local economy.<\/li>\n<li class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"8arhb-0-0\">154 acres of restored wetlands in the San Elijo Lagoon and 400,000+ cubic yard of sand added back to local beaches<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"dd9ir\" data-offset-key=\"6rhht-0-0\">\n<div data-offset-key=\"6rhht-0-0\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-6740 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.flatironcorp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/NCC-Beach-Sand-Replenishment-2-copy.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"693\" height=\"509\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.flatironcorp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/NCC-Beach-Sand-Replenishment-2-copy.jpeg 980w, https:\/\/www.flatironcorp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/NCC-Beach-Sand-Replenishment-2-copy-300x220.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.flatironcorp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/NCC-Beach-Sand-Replenishment-2-copy-150x110.jpeg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 693px) 100vw, 693px\" \/><\/div>\n<div data-offset-key=\"6rhht-0-0\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"6rhht-0-0\"><strong>North Carolina Highway 540 A\/B <\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"dd9ir\" data-offset-key=\"5mpjl-0-0\">\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"5mpjl-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"5mpjl-0-0\">This expansive project is a continuation of NCDOT\u2019s first toll road. Our environmentally-friendly and sustainable practices include a dedicated asphalt sub with on-site batch plant.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"dd9ir\" data-offset-key=\"3q90i-0-0\">\n<ul>\n<li class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"3q90i-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"3q90i-0-0\">15,000 tons of asphalt recycled \u2013 from the site and from the community. That\u2019s enough to cover 10 football fields with an inch-thick layer of asphalt. All demolished asphalt is ground up and made into new roadway. Additionally, local roofing contractors bring us old asphalt shingles.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"3q90i-0-0\">Our on-site asphalt batch plant means our trucks drive shorter distances to get the work done. We\u2019ve cut almost 100,000 gallons of diesel fuel and the associated greenhouse gas emissions.<\/li>\n<li class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"3q90i-0-0\">100% of demolished concrete is re-used instead of trashed. Much of the old runway was able to be recycled into the new structure.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"dd9ir\" data-offset-key=\"dn41e-0-0\">\n<ul>\n<li class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"dn41e-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"dn41e-0-0\">100% of demolished materials recycled.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"dn41e-0-0\">Approximately 160,000 tons of the base course were recycled.<\/li>\n<li class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"dn41e-0-0\">85% of the earthwork was utilized on site which reduced hauling efforts and associated costs and greenhouse gas emissions.<\/li>\n<li class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"dn41e-0-0\">Airport Business\u2019 2023 Project of the Year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div data-offset-key=\"etg8e-0-0\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-6741 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.flatironcorp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/H8371-002.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"696\" height=\"464\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.flatironcorp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/H8371-002.jpg 2500w, https:\/\/www.flatironcorp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/H8371-002-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.flatironcorp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/H8371-002-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.flatironcorp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/H8371-002-150x100.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.flatironcorp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/H8371-002-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.flatironcorp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/H8371-002-2048x1366.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px\" \/><\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"dd9ir\" data-offset-key=\"6kk8a-0-0\">\n<div data-offset-key=\"6kk8a-0-0\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"6kk8a-0-0\"><strong>Terminal 1 \u2013 <span class=\"sc-dvmjMc fJrppY CompleteMention\">San Diego County Regional Airport Authority<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"dd9ir\" data-offset-key=\"932c8-0-0\">\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"932c8-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"932c8-0-0\">This project will deliver a safe, forward-thinking design to be enjoyed by the travelling public for generations to come. Besides the terminal itself, a new three-lane access road will take thousands of vehicles off nearby thoroughfares.<\/span><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"932c8-0-0\">Demolished concrete will be recycled as infill aggregate.
