In honor of Women in Construction Week, this video is 60 seconds of wisdom that she shared with Flatiron employees. In its 75th year, the minority-owned Smoot has grown from a modest masonry subcontractor to a full-service construction company.<\/p>\n<p>In her two decades in construction, Stowe has developed a strong reputation as a thought leader on minority business development and diversity in hiring. The Washington Business Journal named her one of the Washington area\u2019s \u201cmost influential professional women of 2020.\u201d The former television news anchor has received a number of other accolades including the Outstanding Service Award by the D.C.
