{"id":5511,"date":"2020-05-18T11:54:38","date_gmt":"2020-05-18T17:54:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.flatironcorp.com\/?p=5511"},"modified":"2020-06-11T09:14:50","modified_gmt":"2020-06-11T15:14:50","slug":"flatiron-recognized-for-paving-work-at-colorado-springs-airport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.flatironcorp.com\/news\/flatiron-recognized-for-paving-work-at-colorado-springs-airport\/","title":{"rendered":"Flatiron Recognized for Paving Work at Colorado Springs Airport"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The American Concrete Pavement Association has given Flatiron its <i>Excellence in Concrete Paving Award<\/i> for taxiway work at the Colorado Springs Airport. According to the organization the accolade is \u201cgiven annually to concrete paving projects of exceptional quality and recognize the owner, engineer, and contractor of each award winning project.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Flatiron won for the 2018 full reconstruction of a portion of the airport\u2019s Taxiway Mike, as well as the full construction of Taxiway Golf last year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This was not Flatiron\u2019s first project at the facility. Teams also worked on Taxiways November and Papa from 2017 to 2018.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Rob Richardson, vice president and district manager for the Central Division, was elated by the announcement. \u201cThis was an important award for Flatiron because airport paving is a field where we are making a significant investment as a district,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Flatiron is now entered in the ACPA\u2019s national project competition.
