The project has gotten a lot of positive attention from local media.<\/p>\n<p>The Charlotte Observer featured the project\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.charlotteobserver.com\/news\/business\/biz-columns-blogs\/development\/article92586347.html\" target=\"_blank\">progress and expected early completion<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In June, Charlotte-based Channel 9 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wsoctv.com\/news\/local\/charlotte-airport-officials-show-work-on-future-pedestrian-tunnels\/326588180\" target=\"_blank\">broadcasted a piece on the project<\/a>, as well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMore Flatiron banners were ready and in place for the media this time,\u201d quipped Southeast Division Operations Manager Dan Lieberman.<\/p>\n<p>Flatiron and 22bet sports betting appjoint partner Blythe Development Company are constructing an elevated roadway system, underground passageways and traffic control system for the Charlotte airport. Crews are constructing eight grade vehicle lanes, eight elevated vehicle lanes between the hourly parking deck and the main terminal, as well as the structural portion of future pedestrian tunnels below the new roadway system.<\/p>\n<p>The elevated roadway consists of 107 drilled shafts, 208 girders, 124,460 square feet of bridge deck, and two open cut tunnels.
