The program provides you with a broad range of meaningful experiences and gained knowledge that will contribute to your\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/flatironcon.wpengine.com\/careers\/\" target=\"_blank\">career development<\/a>\u00a0at Flatiron. This program provides you with\u00a0exposure to seven of our core business disciplines.\u00a0Learning takes the form of on-the-job training from seasoned Flatiron professionals, internal courses developed to fit program needs and external offerings through organizations such as\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.agc.org\" target=\"_blank\">AGC<\/a>.\u00a0As part of the program, you will spend time in four mandatory disciplines:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Health, Safety &amp; Environment<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Cost Control &amp; Administration<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Operations &amp; Production<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Estimating<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Each discipline has multiple topics and skills that you will acquire during your exposure. Additionally, you should also rotate through some of the three elective disciplines:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Technical Design<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Legal &amp; Contracts<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>\u00a0Scheduling<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div title=\"Page 26\">\n<div title=\"Page 26\">\n<p>One of the main goals of the program is to develop well-rounded, knowledgeable engineers through exposure to these core business disciplines.\u00a0The experience also may help engineers identify specific areas they may want to pursue as a career path and will help managers make more informed operational and developmental staffing decisions.<\/p>\n<div title=\"Page 26\">\n<p>\u201cMany forms of this rotation program\u00a0have been in place at Flatiron, but we wanted to develop a more formal process and guidelines for the program,\u201d said\u00a0Elie Homsi, executive vice president of engineering services. \u201cThis tracking process will provide flexibility to our managers to help balance both the\u00a0development of our engineers and the needs of our business.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you are an engineer with up to five years of experience, you are a part of Flatiron\u2019s Engineer Rotation Program.
