{"id":4448,"date":"2015-10-29T20:31:10","date_gmt":"2015-10-29T20:31:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/flatironcon.wpengine.com\/?p=4448"},"modified":"2016-05-13T20:33:28","modified_gmt":"2016-05-13T20:33:28","slug":"canada-project-receives-procurement-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.flatironcorp.com\/news\/canada-project-receives-procurement-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"Canada Project Receives Procurement Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Broomfield, Colorado (October 29, 2015) <\/strong>\u2013 The Canadian Council for Public-Private Partnerships (CCPPP) honored the New Champlain Bridge Corridor Project in November.<\/p>\n<p>The CA$2.15 billion project, which broke ground in June 2015, received the Gold Award in the Effective Procurement category of <a href=\"https:\/\/informedinfrastructure.com\/18344\/new-champlain-bridge-corridor-project-sets-gold-standard-at-18th-annual-ccppp-awards\/\">the 2015 National Awards for Innovation and Excellence in Public-Private Partnerships<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe New Champlain Bridge Corridor Project has set the gold standard for effective procurement with its procurement process conducted in record time for a capital structure of its size and complexity,\u201d said Mark Romoff, President and CEO of CCPPP, <a href=\"https:\/\/informedinfrastructure.com\/18344\/new-champlain-bridge-corridor-project-sets-gold-standard-at-18th-annual-ccppp-awards\/\">according to a release<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The partnership of SNC-Lavalin, Flatiron and Dragados Canada is responsible for construction of the new 3.4-kilometer Champlain Bridge. Consortium equity providers include SNC-Lavalin Capital, ACS Infrastructure Canada and HOCHTIEF PPP Solutions North America. The project is designed by T.Y. Lin International, International Bridge Technologies, SNC-Lavalin and MMM.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newchamplain.ca\">new Champlain Bridge Corridor<\/a>, one of North America\u2019s largest infrastructure projects, will provide additional capacity and increase safety on one of the busiest bridges in Canada. The project includes a new 500-metre bridge for L\u2019\u00cele-des-S\u0153urs; the widening of Highway 15 between the Atwater interchange and the new bridge; and the improvement of the ramps leading from Highways 132 and 10 on the South Shore to the bridge.
